Our Community Service Projects
Our club members often cite service opportunities as the main reason for joining. While we have several yearly events, like river clean ups in Oshkosh, we also plan monthly service projects. The monthly projects range from writing letters to helping with local races and organizing larger fundraising events.
River Clean Up on the Fox-Wolf Watershed
The Satellite Club of Oshkosh Southwest Rotary works with the Fox Wolf Watershed Alliance to keep our local waterways clean. We participate in at least two coordinated river clean ups per year.
River clean-up is a family event - as long as children are safe near the water - so it’s easy to plan in a busy schedule. We believe in passing on the value of “Service Above Self,” and that starts with volunteering early.
Planting for the Future
As a young club - both in membership age and age of the club - we value a healthy future for ourselves, our children, and our community. We’ve helped plan, fund and physically plant trees in Oshkosh during a worldwide initiative to plant one tree for every Rotarian. Visit the Rotary arboretum at County Park or enjoy the shade along the paths at Jones Park to enjoy our work.
The projects in Oshkosh were funded and organized by the Oshkosh's Rotary clubs, with leadership from the Environmental Committee, with members from each club.
